FACTS WHAT DOES SOO LINE CREDIT UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

What We Do
How does Soo Line Credit Union protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Soo Line Credit Union collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
  • Open an account or use your credit or debit card
  • Show your government-issued ID or apply for financing
  • Make deposits or withdrawals from your account

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all my sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
  • Sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes - information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  • Soo Line Credit Union has no affiliates.
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  • Soo Line Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
  • Our joint marketing partners include CUNA Mutual Group's MEMBERCONNECT and credit card companies.
 
 

In accordance with the requirements of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 and Regulation GG, this notification is to inform you that restricted transactions are prohibited from being processed through your account or relationship with our institution. Restricted transactions are transactions in which a person accepts credit, funds, instruments or other proceeds from another person in connection with unlawful internet gambling.

Soo Line Credit Union will protect your personal information. This credit union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, we will use security coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, to ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and to protect member confidentiality.

You will always have access to your information. As a member of Soo Line Credit Union, you will always have the opportunity to review your information and make changes to ensure that our records are complete and accurate.

Soo Line Credit Union will only share information when absolutely necessary. We will only share information to administer the products and services we provide, when required to do so by the government, or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services.

Soo Line Credit Union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members’ economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize those firms to charge your account for any fees without your express consent, and we will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.

Soo Line Credit Union will offer you a choice in how your information is used. Any member of our credit union may elect to keep your information from being shared with our business partners. We will inform you on how to exercise your choice, and we will take all reasonable steps to make sure your requests are followed. At least once a year, we will remind all members of this right to choose.
